Baahi Jira visionary artwork depicting a biomechanical panther, Buddhist figures, a meditating figure, alien technology and a geometric mandala

Baahi Jira

2012, digital, 24 x 36 in.

Baahi Jira is based upon a visionary experience I had where I encountered a massive biomechanical feline entity that resembled a panther. The entity appeared both alive and mechanical, with its eyes, mouth, ears, and outer form composed of animated structures that moved like centipedes.

As I was taken deeper into the vision, I saw a figure entangled in light near the base of the panther’s mouth. Within what appeared to be its third eye was an alien landscape filled with trees, where a meditating figure seemed to resonate with the surrounding environment.

Above this landscape were numerous Buddha and Bodhisattva-like figures beneath an enormous mandala that resembled some form of alien technology. Everything within the vision was animated and constantly moving, revealing an unfamiliar place unlike anything I had encountered before.

The entire environment felt as though nature, consciousness, and machinery had merged into a single living system—a world constructed from some form of alien technology.
