This section examines each individual heptad as presented in Occultum Lapidem: The Planetary Heptad, and functions as a companion framework to the Aeon of Da’Ath Tarot. Each heptagram is structured around seven points, with planetary correspondences positioned along its perimeter. These correspondences are not treated as symbolic ornaments, but as the essential spiritual qualities embodied by the seven classical planets.
Within every heptad, the ruling planet appears in its own direct expression. This is the planet reflected through itself, its pure spiritual quality, unmediated and foundational. From this central principle, the remaining six correspondences articulate how that planetary force refracts through the other classical influences.
Each planetary expression follows a consistent metaphysical structure. Saturn corresponds to one of the seven classical metals. Jupiter aligns with one of the seven archangels. Mars is expressed through one of the seven Goetic spirits, each governed by the counterbalancing authority of the angel that rules over it. Sol corresponds to one of the seven Olympic spirits. Venus is expressed through one of the seven planetary spirits. Mercury aligns with one of the seven Hebrew double letters. Luna corresponds to one of the seven planetary intelligences. Additionally each color corresponds to one of the Sephirots on the Tree of Life in relation to the Golden Dawn’s queen scale color assignment.
Together, these correspondences form a closed system, mapping how a single planetary force manifests across multiple layers of reality, material, spiritual, cognitive, and operative. Each heptad functions as a complete circuit, revealing the internal logic of the planet rather than a collection of isolated symbols.
What follows is the Heptad of Sol, outlining how Sol’s essential nature is expressed through each of these seven correspondences.
Gold corresponds to Sol as perfected matter. Unlike other metals, gold does not corrode, tarnish, or decay, reflecting the Sun’s association with permanence, incorruptibility, and centrality. Through Saturn, solar energy becomes stabilized into enduring form. This aspect expresses Sol as fixed presence, authority that persists through time, and essence that remains unchanged by conditions.
Michael represents solar authority exercised through justice and divine order. When Sol acts through Jupiter, rulership becomes moral leadership, power aligned with law, balance, and protection. This correspondence governs rightful sovereignty, leadership in service of order, and the illumination of truth through authority rather than force.
Belphegor corresponds to solar power expressed as unchecked drive and ambition. This aspect reveals the destabilizing potential of solar force when amplified through Martian impulse. Will becomes restless, creativity turns toward excess, and authority seeks gratification rather than responsibility. Sol here exposes the dangers of power divorced from restraint.
This is Sol in its pure and sovereign state. Och embodies the Sun as central intelligence, the organizing principle around which identity, vitality, and authority revolve. This correspondence governs clarity, confidence, illumination, and the power to unify disparate forces under a single will. It is rulership as coherence rather than domination.
Sorath represents the Sun’s vital force intensified through desire and attraction. This is life-force at its most volatile, passion without moderation. Sol through Venus amplifies vitality to the point of combustion, revealing the ecstatic and destructive edges of pleasure, charisma, and creative fire. It governs excess, obsession, and radiant intensity.
Resh corresponds to Sol as conscious perception and directional awareness. Solar intelligence moves through thought, speech, and recognition. This aspect governs clarity of vision, articulation of purpose, and the transmission of identity through word and symbol. Sol here illuminates understanding and directs action through awareness.
Nakhiel expresses solar authority shaping the realm of form and experience. Inner illumination becomes visible presence, identity takes shape in the world. This correspondence governs embodiment of self, recognition, and the projection of inner authority into lived reality. Sol here gives form to essence, making the invisible visible.
