This section examines each individual heptad as presented in Occultum Lapidem: The Planetary Heptad, and functions as a companion framework to the Aeon of Da’Ath Tarot. Each heptagram is structured around seven points, with planetary correspondences positioned along its perimeter. These correspondences are not treated as symbolic ornaments, but as the essential spiritual qualities embodied by the seven classical planets.
Within every heptad, the ruling planet appears in its own direct expression. This is the planet reflected through itself, its pure spiritual quality, unmediated and foundational. From this central principle, the remaining six correspondences articulate how that planetary force refracts through the other classical influences.
Each planetary expression follows a consistent metaphysical structure. Saturn corresponds to one of the seven classical metals. Jupiter aligns with one of the seven archangels. Mars is expressed through one of the seven Goetic spirits, each governed by the counterbalancing authority of the angel that rules over it. Sol corresponds to one of the seven Olympic spirits. Venus is expressed through one of the seven planetary spirits. Mercury aligns with one of the seven Hebrew double letters. Luna corresponds to one of the seven planetary intelligences. Additionally each color corresponds to one of the Sephirots on the Tree of Life in relation to the Golden Dawn’s queen scale color assignment.
Together, these correspondences form a closed system, mapping how a single planetary force manifests across multiple layers of reality, material, spiritual, cognitive, and operative. Each heptad functions as a complete circuit, revealing the internal logic of the planet rather than a collection of isolated symbols.
What follows is the Heptad of Mars, outlining how Mars’ essential nature is expressed through each of these seven correspondences.
Iron corresponds to Mars as force made material. Unlike Saturn’s lead, iron is not inert, it is forged, sharpened, and used. It embodies Mars as endurance under stress, strength that holds shape through impact. Iron expresses Martian energy as resilience, armor, and the capacity to withstand and deliver force in the physical world.
Camael represents Mars under lawful authority. When Mars acts through Jupiter, aggression is subordinated to justice, command, and moral order. This correspondence governs disciplined power, righteous conflict, and force exercised in service of structure rather than impulse. Mars here becomes the enforcer of divine law rather than a source of chaos.
This is Mars in its undiluted state. Asmoday embodies unrestrained drive, desire, and confrontation. There is no mediation here, only intensity, impulse, and direct expression of will. This aspect governs passion, conflict, and the instinct to dominate or overcome. It is the furnace of action before strategy intervenes.
Phaleg expresses Mars as strategic authority. Through the solar principle, Martian force becomes leadership, command, and disciplined conquest. This correspondence governs victory through order, action guided by hierarchy and purpose. Mars here acts not as impulse, but as directed power under conscious command.
Barzabel represents Mars influencing desire and vitality. Passion becomes aggressive attraction, pleasure becomes pursuit. This aspect governs libido, magnetism, and the volatile intersection of desire and conflict. Mars sharpens Venusian energy, intensifying attraction and turning connection into pursuit or competition.
Peh corresponds to Mars as speech, command, and execution. Thought becomes directive, language becomes forceful, and communication becomes an instrument of action. This aspect governs orders, strategy, and decisive articulation. Mars through Mercury is the power to initiate action through word, signal, or instruction.
Graphiel expresses Mars shaping emotion and instinct into action. Impulses surface quickly, reactions manifest immediately. This aspect governs reflex, instinctual behavior, and the rapid embodiment of inner states. Mars here collapses the distance between feeling and action, giving form to aggression, fear, and drive without delay.
