In this diagram I broke the vertical ascent/descent operation found in the Lurianic Tree of Life diagrams and created the Sephirots in the Tree of Life as a mandala-like diagram with Ain Soph Aur being at the direct center.
Ain represented as a triangle is symbolized as meaning “Absolute Nothing”, Ain Soph represented as a Heptagon represents “Limitless without Ending” and Ain Soph Aur represented as Decagon symbolizes “Limitless Light”, these are the first 3 movements of creation according to Kabbalah cosmology.
The triangle echoes the 3 Hebrew Mother Letters, The heptagon echoes the 7 Hebrew double letters and the decagon echoes the 12 Hebrew simple letters as mentioned in the Sefer Yetzirah. After Ain Soph Aur emanates the 10 Spheres of reality known as Sephirots, each sphere is a governing influence on the Kabbalah tree of Life starting at Kether (The White Sephirah) and moving around the mandala in a clockwise fashion ending with the densest sephirot Malkuth. You will see that each Sephirah is divided into 10 correspondences, each correspondence here relates to an aspect of the 10 sephirots of the tree of life. This mapping goes as following:
- Elemental Substance (3 Primes/4 Elements) to Keter
- Zodiac to Chockmah
- Double Letter to Binah
- Planetary Archangel to Chesed
- Planetary Archdemon to Geburah
- Olympian Spirit to Tipharet
- Planetary Spirit to Netzach
- Metal to Hod
- Mercury to Yesod
- Pagan Sabbat to Malkuth
The best way to explain how each Sephirah are split into 10 emanations is the analogy of a prism, when light hits a prism light is split and refracted from it, this part of the diagram offers a similar function to breakdown the meaning of each sephirah to its corresponding internal emanation. I did this so that if practitioners wanted to work with one particular sephirah the sephirots could be used in magickal operations.
This splitting of each sephirot into 10 correspondences is my own invention for those interested in this additional layer I did my due diligent homework and made sure that each correspondence aligns as closely as possibly to classical hermetics, alchemy and golden dawn operations. I was able to fill in a lot of these blanks through triangulation and reduction methods.
The colors of each sephirah are nearly identical to the golden dawn system with some slight alteration in color assignment ie for Malkuth I stuck with a solid brown color to represent the sephirahs main principle and rather then using black for Binah I moved to a darker gray so this diagram could be read despite its background color, this color scheme apart from the minor alterations for the most part aligns with the Golden Dawn Queen scale and shouldn’t cause too much of a hiccup.
Last but not least you will see above each sephirah are Hebrew letters these correspondences relate to the 4 worlds of the Kabbalah, Atzilthuth representing fire (the first 3 Sephirots), Briah representing Water (Sephirots 4-6), Yetzirah representing Air (Sephirots 7-9) and finally the last and 10th Sephirah Malkuth is attributed to Assiah representing Earth.
This was a fun and time consuming diagram mostly made to help me understand the complexity of the Tree of Life, hopefully this can help simplify Kabbalah for you too! If you have any questions or see things differently i’m always open to constructive criticism and friendly debate.
