Liber Sanctum Arcanum Symbola Novus Aeon Da’ath

Liber Sanctum Arcanum Symbola Novus Aeon Da’ath

This seal was created for my upcoming tarot deck, “Aeon of Da’ath” which draws heavily on classical Hermetic era sigils and symbolic frameworks. Each card layers multiple occult languages to support both magical work and intuitive forms of divination.

The outer inscription reads
“Liber Sanctum Arcanum Symbola Novus Aeon Da’ath.”
I interpret this as “The Sacred Book of Arcane Mysteries, Symbols of the New Aeon, Da’ath.” Here, “Book” refers to Story, since tarot has always been able to create narratives that guide the practitioner inward, helping them examine the self and support spiritual growth.

Da’ath, the hidden sephirot on the Tree of Life, symbolizes Knowledge. Its nature is traditionally elusive, and I use it here as the bridge between the Tree of Life and its shadow root, the Qliphoth. With esoteric knowledge becoming more accessible, Da’ath feels increasingly relevant as a point of passage and integration. This system is meant to reflect that shift, working within what I call the Age of Da’ath, the Age of Spiritual Knowledge.

The structure of the seal took time to develop because every layer carries specific symbolic meaning.

At its foundation is the heptagram. Seven is unique because, unlike the other classical divisors of the circle, it does not divide 360 degrees into a whole number. While sacred numbers like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 all produce clean degree segments, dividing 360 by 7 produces an endlessly repeating decimal. In Hermetic symbolism, this irregularity places seven outside the standard harmonic order, giving the heptagram its link to mystery, liminal forces, and non linear currents. Seven appears throughout esoteric systems in the 7 Archangels, the 7 Planetary Intelligences, the 7 Planetary Spirits, the 7 Elements, the 7 alchemical stages, the 7 metals, and the 7 rays of light.

At the apex of the heptagram, and at the lower left and right points, are the three Hebrew Mother Letters Aleph, Mem, and Shin. These appear with the Four Worlds Atziluth, Briah, Yetzirah, and Assiah.

The next ring holds the 22 Hebrew letters, forming the 231 Gates and representing the essential permutations and connective paths of the Tree of Life.

Inside that is the triangle of Prima Materia, showing Mercury, Sulphur, and Salt, the three prime matters that generate the four elements. Within the triangle is a second heptagram that represents the seven classical planets, which are central to classical astrology, alchemy, and Hermetic correspondences.

At the center is the Solomonic Seal of Mercury, shown as a pentagram with its corresponding Hebrew letters. This is used here as the balancing intelligence that links all surrounding principles into a cohesive system.

Each pyramid and heptagram in the seal points upward to mirror the movement from the material to the spiritual.

This seal marks the completion of a project that began in January 2022. It has been a long and focused process, and I am looking forward to sharing the finished work.
